"How To Read Literature Like a Professor"

...or more accurately, "How To Be A Nerd".

I love this book.
Love. It.

And it's taking me so freaking long to read because he makes all these references to authors and novels and poems and short stories, and me, being a nerd, keeps looking them up every 5 minutes. So it's been about a day, and I'm on page 20. Out of 281.

Not good, since I have to finish it by the second.

But oh my goodness.
I have such a long list of things to read now.

Ahhhhh!
Yesterday I got an old looking copy of Tender Is The Night by the lovely Fitzy.
It was only $4.
Amazing.

I also found out a cool thing Google does.
If there's books whose copyright date has expired, they will digitally scan them for people to read online or download as a PDF file.
Amazing. Again.
So I found "Daisy Miller" by Henry McVickar.
The illustrations in it are so pretty.

And I found a blog of this guy who has a whole bunch of hard-to-find links of short stories and books and stuff while I was looking for "A Hunger Artist" by Franz Kafka.
(A Hunger Artist)
[I haven't actually read it yet, though]

I feel like I've discovered a whole nother world.
But, like most other things I "discover", am finding it a lot later than most.
Oh, well.

Charles Dawson the pencil sharpening Robot says, "hi", by the way.

Oh man, now I'm a nerd and a geek.

CLARIFICATION:

NERD - the amount of elationatory feelings I am receiving from this book.

GEEK - the fact that I have to wear my retainer every night, lest my teeth start to hurt.

haha. such is life.
At least I don't have to wear it during the day.

Anyways, time to read again, friends.
